In accordance with Article 174 of Air Transport Law (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, no. 73/2010, 57/2011, 93/2012, 45/2015, 66/2015- sec. law, 83/2018 and 9/2020), Air Transport Technician belongs to the category of ground handling personnel, whose tasks indirectly influence air transport safety.

Duties – professional competences:

  • performs tasks of flight information service dispatcher;
  • performs tasks of controller of ground handling services for aircraft, passengers and baggage;
  • performs tasks of flight planning and preparation;
  • performs tasks of aircraft balancing.

Qualification foundation

Qualification is based on job description, objectives and outcomes of vocational education. Rights,  liabilities, and responsibilities of Air Transport Technician are defined by the documents EASA – LAPL – PPL – Part – FCL, ICAO АNNEX 1, АNNEX 2, АNNEX 3, АNNEX 4, АNNEX 6, АNNEX 14, АNNEX 16, АNNEX 18, АNNEX 19 and ICAO doc.9476 (AN/927), Air Transport Law and other bylaws.

Following the satisfactory completion of study programme, if one meets the requirements defined by “The Aviation Academy Regulations on the conditions for obtaining licence”,, the person obtains certificate for following competences:

  • traffic coordinator;
  • flight information service dispatchers;
  • ramp servicing dispatcher;
  • Handling supervisor of air-traffic, passengers and baggage;    

Following satisfactory completion of the third grade study programme, if one meets the requirements defined by “The Aviation Academy Regulations on the conditions for obtaining licence”, person attains recommendation for taking theoretical part of the exam for PPL (A) – Private Pilot Licence in the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia.
