The main objective of Air Transport study programme is education of applied engineers that will have necessary knowledge, capabilities and skills for successful performance of engineering tasks in the field of Air Transport and necessary knowledge, capabilities and skills for obtaining ATPL – Airline Transport Pilot Licence, in compliance with EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) Flight Crew Licencing (Part – FCL). Different features in content of open elective subjects are enabling students to train for one of the two specialities: aeroplane pilot, ATPL (А) – Airline Transport Pilot Licence and helicopter pilot, ATPL (Н) – Airline Transport Pilot Licence. Compulsory subjects, as well as open elective subjects, are defined based on the EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) regulations Flight Crew Licencing – Part – FCL.
Purpose of the Bachelor of Applied Studies in Air Transport study programme is the education of applied engineers in Air Transport, pilots, in accordance with recognized demand of the labour market. This programme has been founded on contemporary curriculum and contemporary teaching plans for subjects that follow trends and processes related to the field of education of aeroplane pilots and helicopter pilots. Realization of this study programme results in education of applied engineers for obtaining licences for professional aeroplane pilots and helicopter pilots.
The study programme is focused on continuous monitoring of the international and national aviation regulations related to education and training of aeroplane pilots and helicopter pilots, with an intention to have an insight into requirements for changes in standards, and for the purpose of curriculum modernization and modernization of the methods in the teaching process.
