Within Erasmus+ project, a number of students from class 3-5, Air transport technician, had a practical training in Aeronautical Technical Institute Arturo Ferrarin in Sicily, where they spent a period of time from 17th to 29th of October with their escort teachers, Goranka Vračar and Jelena Kragulj.

Upon reaching their destination, they started a twelve-day adventure at reception with Pittala Patrizie, the institute director. Afterwards they visited classroom with a flight simulator, as well as P.E., Computer science, Engineering, Electro techniques, Navigation, Physics, English and Music classrooms.

Aviation Academy students had theory lessons in navigation where their knowledge of English and fundamentals of navigation stood out. Upon the theoretical part, students tried flight simulation successfully and with the support of their peer hosts. Lectures in flight control, visit to Aero Club di Catagna and aeronautical charts, as well as charts for ILS, basic meteorology information and NOTAM followed, and students contiunes aircraft inspection on the ramp. During the practical training, students visited aircraft factory where they improved their knowledge of materials, parts of the plane, autorization procedure, obtaining certificate, factory employees and which is the most important, the procedure of plane testing and inspection. Teachers Goranka Vracar and Jelena Kragulj actively participated in the project- Vracar assisted students in chemistry lessons during experiments, and Kragulj was involved in organization of volleyball and 3×3 basketball tournaments.

Official reception of new students was organized and distinguished representatives of the city, military and civil aviation were guests. The hosts used the opportunity to present Aviation Academy students and teachers

During the period of time that they spent in Sicily, students and their escort teachers visited numerous sights: Catania harbour, Ancient Greek theatre, St. Augusta cathedral, Elephant Fountain, Ursino Castle, Bellini villa. They visited Taormina and baroque city Acireale.

It has been planned to continue this cooperation which would enable students to improve their theoretical knowledge and gain new experience.
