Основни циљ студијског програма је образовање струковних инжењера, који ће имати потребна знања, способности и вештине за успешно обављање инжењерских послова у области Ваздухопловног машинства (ВМ) и потребна знања, способности и вештине за стицање дозволе Б1.1, Б1.2, Б1.3, Б1.4 и Б2 у складу са EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) Part 66 Certifying Staff и Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation Approval. Различитости у садржајима изборних предмета омогућује студентима оспособљавање за једну од пет специјалности: Б1.1 авиони са турбомлазним погонским групама (Aeroplanes With Turbine Engines), Б1.2 авиони са клипним погонским групама (Aeroplanes With Piston Engines) Б1.3 хеликоптери са турбомлазним погонским групама (Helicopters With Turbine Engines), Б1.4 хеликоптери са клипним погонским групама (Helicopters With Piston Engines), и Б2 авионика (Avionics). Обавезни предмети, као и изборни предмети, дефинисани су на основу захтева које прописује EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) Part 66 Certifying Staff и Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation Approval.
Сврха студијског програма основних струковних студија Ваздухопловно машинство је да образује струковне инжењере машинства у складу са препознатим потребама тржишта рада. Заснован је на савременом курикулуму и савременим наставним плановима предмета EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) Part 66 Certifying Staff и Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation Approval, који прате трендове и токове у области школовања инжењера одржавања ваздухоплова.
