In the previous period of time several visits to schools in Turkey and Italy were made within Erasmus+ project Safe Drones over Safe Environment, and from 13th to 19th November 2022, Aviation Academy students visited Seville, Spain, and made a successful knowledge transfer with other project participants and school host, ASOCIACION CENTRO BENEFICO ADA. During the visit, the students and their escort teachers, Dejan Crnoglavac and Aleksandar Starčević, participated in several drone related workshops, showed their theoretical knowledge and improved their skills in practice.

The visit to Turkey involved practical use of drones when safety tests for drones and anticollision system were conducted, as well as the use of multispectral camera in the environment protection. In Italy, they tested the use of multispectral camera in processing data collected in a real drone flight. As opposed to those two visits, during the last visit to Spain, the project participants performed basic components check-up of a drone (a pre-flight check-up) and after that they performed an aircraft damage inspection using all drone functions.

Since the participating schools were aviation related, the above-mentioned testing of drone functions raised great interest among the students. A drone camera registered all kinds of aircraft damage, a very important point in the emergency events analysis. The host enabled all project participants to try free flight drone which resulted in students’ improvement of drone flying skills (from the smallest high-speed drones to the large ones). All planned theoretical and practical activities were completely finished.

Upon finishing working activities, hosts presented to the project participants memorable sights and culture of Seville, an economy, cultural and financial centre of Spain.

Our school will host students from Turkey, Italy and Spain in the first half of next year and we will try our best once again to present our city as a good host, as well as to conduct all planned activities in further research of drone functions.
