In early February, the Aviation Academy hosted colleagues coming from aviation educational institutions in Italy, Spain and Turkey. That had been their first visit to Belgrade and it was arranged as a part of transnational project for strategic partnership Erasmus + programme Safe Drones Over Safe Environment.

Apart from sightseeing the capital, colleagues from Italy, Spain and Turkey, and representatives from the Academy visited Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and used the opportunity to talk to Assistant Minister for dual education, Dr. Gabrijela Grujić about the project Safe Drones Over Safe Environment. Dr. Grujić has been supporting the Aviation Academy for years, in projects of international cooperation, and participation of the Academy in Erasmus + project is of great importance for the new Strategy of education development till 2030. The plan for this Strategy that has been adopted with an intention to improve the quality of educational process, enables continuation of reforms that will shape education system using cutting-edge approaches, methods and techniques in accordance with labour market demands.
Ministry of Education has recognized the Academy as the educational institution which has been one of the first to enable its students to acquire practical and applied knowledge via international activities thus enabling them qualifications to perform their tasks in a skilful manner upon graduation.

There was a significant transnational meeting at the premises of the Civil Aviation Directorate and it was arranged with an aim to exchange ideas regarding use of UAVs and their growing importance. The representatives of educational institutions from Italy, Spain and Turkey became familiar with the authorities of the Directorate in the sphere of UAVs, the regulations, statistics and methodology used to promote their safe operating.

The last stop for the representatives from Italy, Spain and Turkey was visit to the Training Centre Vršac. They met the employees, saw the capacities for pilot training in Vršac, and got familiar with plans for new investments in infrastructure and equipment that would make that Training Centre one of the most significant in Europe.

The strategic project Erasmus + Safe Drones Over Safe Environment is just the beginning of cooperation between the Aviation Academy and schools in Italy, Spain and Turkey, and new projects are pending.
